New Trailer for The French Dispatch
Searchlight Pictures has released the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated new film, The French Dispatch. The film is set in a fictional 20th-century French city and follows a foreign post of an American newspaper. The film has a massively talented cast, which includes Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, and Willem Dafoe. The French Dispatch is scheduled to be released on Jul. 24, 2020.
“Aladdin” Sequel in the Works
Variety reported that Disney is in the early stages of development for a sequel to their live-action remake of Aladdin that came out in May 2019. It is still unclear if director Guy Ritchie is involved in the sequel, or if Will Smith and Naomi Scott will reprise their roles. Variety states that the script is still being worked on and we can expect to learn more details when it is finished.
Netflix Faces Lawsuit over Black Mirror: Bandersnatch
Netflix is being sued by the publishers of the “Choose Your Own Adventure Books” who claim the streaming company used their trademarked idea in an episode of Black Mirror that allowed viewers to pick outcomes at certain points during the episode. Fox Business reported that a U.S. district court will allow the suit to move forward, dismissing Netflix’s argument that the episode was “designed to collect behavioral information” on Netflix users.
